GANGWON-DO < invest Korea

Gangwon Province is set to export a USD 1.5 million worth of Kimchi, produced in Korea, to the U.S. and Australia this year. A locally based Kimchi maker, Gangwon Export which has already signed a contract to sell Kimchi to the city of L.A., has sent the first shipment, equivalent, in value, to USD 200,000, in October last year, being ready to sell another batch, valued at over USD 1.5 million, to Australia.

Roughly 20 tons of Kimchi, produced by Daega Food Co., Ltd., is also scheduled to be on board for delivery to L.A. on Mar 11. Goods whose cargo volume amounts to two shipping containers will be in shipment every month. Daega food said they’ll further diversify its product line to let consumers throughout the world taste traditional Korean dish, while breaking in and opening new sales channels even in Europe.
