According to Yonhap News,

The East Coast Free Economic Zone Authority (EFEZ) announced on July 12 that Gensler, the world's largest design and architecture frim, will participate in the architectural design of Mangsang Districts 2 and 3.

The EFEZ invited Gensler and a project operator to its office, holding a briefing session the project and discussing the MOU for architectural design, schedule, and design direction.

Gensler will participate as a master designer together with Hyewonkaci Architects (HKA Architects) in Korea, joining forces in master design in the entire Mangsang Districts 2 and 3 and participating in designing of individual buildings.

Gensler, headquartered in the United States with offices in about 50 countries around the world, is the world's largest architectural designer based on sales revenue.

It participated in designing of China's Shanghai Tower, Incheon International Airport Terminal 2, and Grand Hyatt Hotel in Incheon, among others.

Mangsang Districts 2 and 3 are planned to be developed as an international complex tourism site with more than KRW 3 trillion total project cost, combining 5-star luxury brand hotels and resorts, art museums, private residence, themed shopping malls, bringing together accommodation, recreation, culture, and shopping on an area of about 360,000 square meters near Mangsang Beach in Donghae-si.
