According to Yonhap News,

The groundbreaking ceremony for the hydrogen pilot city infrastructure technology development project was held at the site of Samcheok, Gangwon on July 12.

With this groundbreaking ceremony, the construction of the hydrogen townhouse demonstration complex has began in earnest.

The hydrogen townhouse demonstration complex consists of two general houses, three solar-powered houses, one hydrogen-powered house, an integrated management building, and a community center & PR center.

It is a demonstration complex to secucre residents' acceptability, safety, and economic viability, develop business models, and lay the institutional foundation, needed for expansion of the hydrogen energy in the residential sector.

Samcheok's mayor said, "Together with the Korea Agency for Infrastructure Technology Advancement, we and the Korea Institute of Energy Research, we will successfully carry out the hydrogen pilot city infrastructure technology development project, laying the foundation as an eco-friendly hydrogen energy city and grow into hydrogen hub city."
