Agricultural processed food products produced by Jeongseon, Gangwon province are going to be sold in the US and Australian market.

Jeongseon signed MOUs on June 14 with GANGWON TRADING, INC, and Samyang Australia, retailers operating their business in the US and Australia respectively. The MOUs signed are worth USD 200,000, all told.

Accordingly, 50 Agricultural processed food products manufactured by 16 food processing manufacturers are to be up for sale in these overseas markets in July.

These products will be on the shelves of about 100 local supermarkets in the two countries.

Jeongseon plans to utilize this opportunity to build the momentum for export of its agricultural products by joining promotion events scheduled to be held in the end of this year in the US and operating Korean farmers' markets in October.

Mayor of Jeongseon county Choi Seung Jun said, "With the chance to export Jeongseon's agricultural products to the US and Australian markets this time, SMEs in this region will be more confident, which will be a driving force of their growth down the road."
