Gangwon State, Wonju-si signed an investment agreement with Kwang Duck Auto & Technology (KT A&T), an automobile parts manufacturer, at Gangwon State Office on February 29.

With the agreement, KT A&T plans to relocate its headquarters and research center, currently in Namdong-gu, Incheon, to Wonju Enterprise City, and invest KRW 43.6 billion and hire 237 new employees.

The company plans to make a leap-forward as a global hidden chmpaion over the next five years, with KRW 200 billion in sales.

KT A&T, established in 1977, has its HQ and research center in Incheon, and production plants in China and Poland.

It built a production plant worth KRW 10 billion in Munmak, Wonju in 2013, which has been in operation since then.

Gangwon's governor mentioned that "the site of a new HQ in Wonju will be about 20,000 square meters, 7 times that of the current one in Incheon."
