On November 18, Hoengseong-gun, the Institute for Advanced Engineering, and the Korea Conformity Laboratories signed a concession agreement to create an e-mobility research and demonstration complex.

The agreement contains matters related to implementation of the project, including the scope of projects and payment of project costs, and matters for consultation between the parties, including the revitalization of the project and the operation after the completion of the project.

Under the agreement, the project to lay the foundation for supporting the development of demand-tailored electric light special vehicles selected in April and May public contests and the construction of safety evaluation system for EV remanufacturing battery will be carried out in earnest from the end of this year.

With KRW 19.6 billion by 2027, the agreement will support the construction of the battery remanufacturing safety evaluation center and safety test and evaluation. In addition, it will invest KRW 19.8 billion of national and provincial funds by 2028 to establish an electric light PBV demonstration evaluation facility.

Hoengseong-gun plans to gradually create research and demonstration facilities in the e-mobility field such as electric vehicles and self-driving on the site of the second phase of the "specialized complex for mobility" in Gadam-ri and Mukgye-ri, Hoengseong-eup.

A total of KRW 171.1 billion will be invested to eight projects, including the projects contained in this agreement.
