According to Yonhap News,

Wonju-si held a 'Regional Business Middle East Market Entry Strategy Seminar' at the city hall on March 24 as part of its efforts to diversify export markets.

The seminar was launched to enhance the stability of exports, concentrated in the top seven countries, and to respond to external variables.

Last year, exports from Wonju appeared to be focused on countries such as the U.S.A., China, Mexico, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, and Indonesia.

At the seminar, the Executive Director of Elpis Corporation, who gained extensive experience as a procurement and purchasing manager at UAE local companies and an expert in the Middle East market, gave a lecture.

He provided an overview of the Middle East market and held a Q&A session to support local companies in their market entry into the region.

Going forward, the city plans to send an overseas market development delegation in the fisrt half of this year, taking advantage of the growing popularity of cosmetics and K-Food, to introduce the region's excellent food, beverage, and beauty devices to the Middle Eastern market.
