According to Yonhap News,

Mico Ceramics held the groundbreaking ceremony for its 4th factory in the Gangneung Science and Industrial Complex on May 9.

The newly expanded 4th Gangneung factory began construction in May of last year and was built with a total floor area of 12,730㎡ and three stories.

The company has invested KRW 65.5 billion in the construction of the factory and equipment and plans to hire approximately 60 new employees to create local jobs.

Mico Ceramics is a spin-off of Mico, established in 1996, and was founded to focus on the specialization and independence of ceramic components for semiconductor equipment in 2020.

The company is taking the lead in localizing ceramic components for semiconductor equipment based on its proprietary ceramic material technology.

Headquartered in Anseong, Gyeonggi-do, Mico Ceramics has continuously grown since the establishment of its 1st (2011), 2nd (2017), and 3rd factories (2021), in response to the semiconductor industry's growth and the increasing demand for ceramic components.

As of last year, the company has reported a sales revenue of KRW 220.2 billion, with a total of 467 employees, 153 of whom work at the Gangneung factory.

The city expects the operation of the 4th factory to further strengthen the company's production capabilities while contributing to the revitalization of the local economy.

The mayor of Gangneung-si said, "We will continue to provide administrative and financial support to ensure that Mico Ceramics leads the local semiconductor industry. Additionally, we will do our best to make Gangneung a business-friendly city."
