Gangwon State, Wonju-si signed an investment agreement worth KRW 11.9bn with a premium Korean beef company
On May 13, Gangwon State and Wonju-si signed an investment agreement with Yedamwoo, a specialized Korean beef meat processing company, on relocation of its headquarters to Wonju Industrial City.
Under the agreement, Yedamwoo, a Korean beef meat processing company headquartered in Hanam-si, Gyeonggi-do, plans to invest a total of KRW 11.9 billion in the Wonju Industrial City and construct a 3,300 square meter (1,000-pyeong) manufacturing plant.
The new plant aims to be completed by the end of 2027.
Yedamwoo, founded in 2022, has rapidly grown as a food startup with 275% sales growth by diversifying its distribution channels and actively engaging in SNS marketing, according to Gangwon State.
Last year, it expanded its market by signing a business agreement with a Somang farm , located in Munmak-eup, Wonju-si, to reduce distribution steps.
The company decided to invest in Wonju Industrial City after considering plans to expand its collaboration with partners in Hoengseong and the investment incentives of Gangwon State which supports 30% of the investment recognized amount when companies relocate to the province.
This investment site is a new investment in long-term undeveloped land, and both Gangwon State and Wonju-si expect it to contribute to revitalizing the local economy through consumption of regional agricultural products and the creation of over 100 new jobs.
