GFEZA conducted investment promotion activities in Japan
On July 1, the Gangwon Free Economic Zone Authority (GFEZA) announced that it has been engaged in foreign investment attraction activities focusing on the Mangsang District tourism development and Okye District manufacturing investment, scheduled for June 30 to July 4, in Tokyo and Osaka, Japan.
The GFEZA held an 'Investment Meeting for Korean Associations in Tokyo' at the Okubo Regional Center in Shinjuku, Tokyo. The meeting introduced the Mangsang District development project, the operation of the investment immigration program, and strategies for attracting businesses to the Okye District.
The meeting was attended by Chairman of the Shinjuku Korean Merchants Association, as well as officials from the World-OKTA and the Korean Residents Union in Japan. Participants held discussions on trends in Japanese overseas investments and ways to cooperate with Korean entrepreneurs.
On July 2nd, the GFEZA will visit the Bureau of Port and Harbor Tokyo Metropolitan Government to discuss and exchange opinions on the development and operation of Odaiba, a representative example of coastal development in Japan.
Odaiba, originally an artificial island created in the late Edo period for coastal defense, was redeveloped on a large scale in the 1990s and has since transformed into a major tourist and shopping destination in Tokyo.
During its promotional activities in Japan, the GFEZA plans to expand its base for private cooperation network by visiting KOTRA's Tokyo and Osaka Offices, the Korea Tourism Organization's Tokyo office, and meeting with the Osaka chapter of the World Korean Association.
