According to Yonhap News,

Gangwon medical device companies have officially begun targeting the European market.

On November 14th, Gangwon State announced that it will participate in the world’s largest medical device exhibition, 'MEDICA 2025,' which will be held in Düsseldorf, Germany, on November 17-20. The province, along with Gangwon Technopark (Gangwon TP), Wonju-si, and the Wonju Medical Industry Institute of Technology (hereafter, WMIT), will operate a joint Gangwon Pavilion at the event.

MEDICA is a global hub for medical technology exchange, with over 5,000 companies from 72 countries participating annually and more than 80,000 buyers in attendance.

The province, the city, Gangwon TP, and WMIT plan to leverage this strategic platform to showcase the innovative technological capabilities of Gangwon’s medical device industry to Europe, while focusing on establishing practical business networks with local buyers and experts.

The Joint Gangwon Pavilion will feature 13 promising medical device manufacturers from the province, including JNBIO (diagnostic spirometer), CU Medical Systems (defibrillator), Connected-In (medical platform), Medicoson (beauty medical devices), Listem (X-ray), Neuroears (medical software), Elect-Field Future (X-ray), and Simstech (medical asset management system).

Meanwhile, Gangwon’s medical device exports reached USD 747.2 million, with a production value of KRW 1.065 trillion. Over the past 10 years, the medical device industry ranked first among export industries in the province. As such, the province has become a key hub for the domestic medical device industry.
