Future Leaders Express Their Love for Korea
Date
2013.10.04

The Friends of Invest KOREA, a program organized by Invest KOREA in which 35 foreign students served as representatives of and promoted Korea, drew to a close Wednesday.

The group of university and graduate school students from 22 countries visited foreign invested companies including Engel Machinery Korea, Rhodia-Silica and the Kimberly-Clark Global Innovation Center Korea for the past five months to learn about Korea’s investment environment. They reported on their experiences on Invest KOREA’s Facebook page and blog to promote Korea’s advantages as an investment destination.

The group also participated in a variety of activities including making posters promoting Invest Korea and videos promoting the country. The student named the most outstanding participant will be given an opportunity to intern at an overseas KOTRA office in his country for a month.

Invest KOREA noted that the greatest achievement of the program was the participants themselves – the 35 future leaders of the world.

Colin Brown, a student from the United States who has studied management in Korea, said he was surprised to see so many investment opportunities here, adding that he will lead efforts to promote Korea’s investment environment.

Martial Junior Bien-Aimé, a Canadian student who plans to establish a venture company in the future, noted that the Friends of Invest KOREA helped him gain insights on various industries. He added that when he starts a company, he will invest in Korea to enjoy the benefits.

Patrycja Baginska, a public official from Warsaw, Poland, expressed her impressions on the support of local Korean governments for foreign investors and promised to continue communicating about Korea’s appeal to other officials.

Michael Kebofilwe Moleleke, who has worked in the United States as a diplomat to attract investment to Botswana, praised Korea’s achievements in attracting world-class companies despite the difficulties of investment promotion.

Kiwon Han, the Commissioner of Invest KOREA, said that the Friends of Invest KOREA laid a foundation to promote Korea around the world for the last five months, emphasizing that he will focus on enhancing Korea’s prestige with the Friends of Invest KOREA program. This year’s Friends of Invest KOREA will act as honorable ambassadors to continue their promotion activities online.
