KOTRA Holds 3rd Grow Together
Date
2015.09.14

- To raise awareness of foreign investment in Korea through an advanced transportation culture campaign

The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) and the European Chamber of Commerce in Korea (ECCK) held a launching ceremony for the third Grow Together corporate social responsibility (CSR) program on September 9. The members of Grow Together carried out a campaign at IKEA Korea, a foreign-invested company, to promote an advanced transportation culture.

Grow Together, a CSR program participated in by staff at KOTRA and the ECCK and Korean university students, aims to improve awareness of foreign investment in Korea. A total of 30 university students from not only the Seoul Metropolitan Area but also Busan, Gwangju, Cheongju and Pohang had been selected as members of the third Grow Together program.

Following the ceremony, about 50 people, including Grow Together members and staff from European companies in Korea (AXA Direct Korea, BNP Paribas Cardif Life Insurance and FIL Asset Management) visited IKEA Korea to carry out the campaign. Established by Grow Together members, the campaign includes distributing handouts about foreign investment and showing people how to use traffic safety tripods.

“Organizations and companies generally ask volunteers to just take part in already established CSR activities. However, we could plan and suggest ideas for Grow Together. I am pleased to participate in Grow Together to improve awareness of foreign investment in Korea,” said Kim Hye-ji, a Grow Together member.

“KOTRA and the ECCK plan to promote sustainable CSR programs with the help of Grow Together members. We will carry out activities to achieve shared growth between students and foreign-invested companies in Korea and the regional society,” said Kim Yunsik, Director General of Invest Korea’s Investment Planning Department.
