KOTRA Holds Get to Know Korea: Chuseok

According to Yonhap News,

(SEOUL=Yonhap News) The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) held Get to Know Korea: Chuseok on September 21 at the Tteok Museum to help foreign residents better understand the Korean culture through participating in cultural events. Supported by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and European Chamber of Commerce in Korea, the event was organized to support Korea’s foreign business community and create a friendly atmosphere promoting investment.

About 60 people attended the event, including Scania Korea Managing Director Kaj Farm, Essilor Korea CEO Christophe Birades, employees of foreign-invested companies, diplomatic envoys and the families of these participants.

With the Korean harvest holiday of Chuseok then only a week away, participants had the opportunity to experience making Chuseok rice cakes (song pyeon), trying on traditional Korean dress (hanbok) and learning to set the ritual table. They also visited the Grévin Museum (a French wax museum), a case of investment attraction by the Seoul Metropolitan Government.

"Get to Know Korea: Chuseok has been an event to show foreign residents that Korea is a great place to live and where traditional and new cultures coexist," said Kim Yunsik, Director General of Invest Korea’s Investment Planning Department.
