Date
2016.07.05

Invest KOREA, the foreign investment promotion arm of the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), held a cultural event ‘Get to know KOREA 2016’ for foreign investors and foreign correspondents on July 2 at the NH Art Hall, Seoul. Started in 2009, the event has helped members of foreign business community better understand Korean culture through experiencing cultural activities.

This year’s event attracted more than 30 participants including Fuji Xerox Korea CEO Ueno Yasuaki, Essilor Korea CEO Christophe Birades, employees of foreign-invested companies, foreign reporters, and participants’ families. They had the opportunity to learn how to play Korean traditional drums before practicing traditional musical instruments through a group performance. The event was followed by a non-verbal show that combines b-boying with Korean traditional music.

“Cultural event is a good chance to show foreign investors that Korea is a great place to live where traditional and modern culture coexist,” said Yang Jang-suk, Director General of Invest Korea’s Investment Planning Department. He added that “as living environment is increasingly vital in investment decision, I hope this event helps promote Korea as an attractive investment destination.”
