KOTRA Holds Job Fair in North Chungcheong, Connecting Foreign-invested Companies With Local College Students
Date
2017.06.08

On May 31, KOTRA held the 'Campus Recruiting for Foreign-invested Companies 2017' job fair at Chungbuk National University in North Chungcheong Province. A total of seven leading foreign-invested companies participated in the event, including Adecco Korea (a subsidiary of Adecco Group, a Fortune 500 company), Uniqlo, SGS Korea, Nifco Korea, Edwards Korea, Nexans Korea, and BorgWarner TS Korea. Four of the seven companies were based in either South or North Chungcheong Province, and gladly participated in the occasion to help revitalize the local economy.

To provide employment opportunities for local college students interested in working for a foreign-invested company, the companies held separate recruitment sessions at the event, where employees from human resources met with individual students for one-on-one consulting. From product design to management support, the companies were looking to hire new talent in various fields, and the students were especially satisfied with how recruitment efforts by each firm were focused on particular fields of study based on actual job openings. Some 340 students from nine local universities (Chungbuk National University, Korea National University of Transportation, Semyung University, etc.) participated in the fair.

KOTRA's foreign investment ombudsman Kim In Chul hoped the event "served as a good opportunity for local students who, despite great interest, had few chances to gain information about foreign-invested companies, let alone attend related job fairs, and will help them build a better strategy from a wider perspective in pursuing their careers."
