On Saturday, October 21, Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) and Gangwon Provincial Office co-hosted 'Get to Know KOREA 2017' at the Alpensia Olympic Park, a venue of the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics. The event has been held since 2008 to help foreign investors gain a better understanding of Korea.

This year, 14 journalists from foreign media outlets including NHK (Japan) and Xinhua (China), 38 business persons and their family members from from foreign-invested companies including Solvay Korea, and 13 employees of diplomatic offices and family members participated in the event, visiting major venues of the upcoming PyeongChang Winter Games, and learning more about the investment environment of Korea and Gangwon Province.

Kim Yong Kook, head of Invest KOREA, noted, "this year's event was a good opportunity to witness the immense interest foreign journalists and investors have in the Winter Olympics," adding, "as the Olympics has a positive impact on promoting the country as a whole, 'Get to Know KOREA' will hopefully continue to serve as a stepping stone for raising awareness of Korea as an attractive investment destination."
