-KOTRA to make the fair a monthly event inviting HR representatives of global companies

Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA: CEO and President, Kwon Pyung-Oh) hosted a career fair on Feb 22, providing a venue where HR representatives of foreign invested companies running business in Korea and 20 job seekers looking for opportunities to work for global companies reach out to and network with each other at KOTRA’s Invest Korea Plaza (IKP), the head office located in Seocho-gu, Seoul, Korea.

Starting from the February event, the agency is set to make it a monthly event, held on a regular basis. By inviting HR managers working for multinational companies once a month, KOTRA is planning to help job seekers have real-time data, enabling them to identify detailed information on job descriptions, types, etc. on the checklist.

The first guest of the fair, Dragerwerk AG & Co., KGaA, presented at the opening of the recruitment event held on Feb 22 at 3 p.m. The German-based medical products manufacturer has worldwide locations in 190 countries, hiring 14,500 employees. With its business mission to develop technologies to value human life, Drager has produced medical supplies and personal protective equipment (PPE) for industry safety since it was founded in 1990.

A manger working for Drager Korea Co., Ltd said “Not a small number of employers have cancelled or postponed recruitment schemes in the midst of concerns over the COVID-19 led economic disruptions. Under such circumstances, today’s event helped a lot.” Chang, Sang-Hyun, commissioner of KOTRA’s Invest KOREA, said “The pandemic has forced businesses to cancel or delay recruitment decisions. In these tough times, we’d like to figure out what’s benefitial for both employees and employers.”
