22 foreign-invested companies with plan for employment in 1H including 3M and ZARA to participate

From April 29, KOTRA (President Yu Jeoung-yeol) will hold 'foreign-invested companies employment briefing sessions by region’ three times through metaverse to help student job seekers in universities located outside of Seoul find employment in foreign-invested companies (hereinafter referred to as foreign-invested companies).

This event was initiated to support local talents who have difficulties in obtaining information necessary for employment in foreign-invested companies, and to promote the recruitment of foreign-invested companies who want to secure excellent local talent pools. Because of the nature of foreign-invested companies who tend to recruit frequently, it is important to keep the recruitment news up to date. By taking this event as an opportunity, local job seekers will be able to ask questions directly to the recruitment managers.

The briefing session will be held once each in three regions: the Southeast region (April 29), Incheon (May 11), and the Chungcheong region (May 18). For each region, the university in charge of recruiting job-seekers are (Southeast region: Bukyong National University, Pusan National University, Incheon: Inha University, Incheon Global Campus Chungcheong region: Dankook University, Chungnam National University, and Chungbuk National University). Even if they are not students of the host university, the university students from the host region can participate.

Twenty-two foreign-invested companies, including 3M, Applied Materials, and ZARA, which have established plans for about 400 employment in the first half of the year, will participate. In addition to 10 companies in the manufacturing, production, and R&D fields and 8 companies in the service industry, companies in 3 industries including IT, information and communication, and medical and pharmaceuticals fields will search for talents in various job fields.

This briefing session will be held on Gathertown, a metaverse platform, allowing job seekers to log in and participate in their convenient places. Participants will experience programs such as recruitment briefing sessions by each company on Metaverse, one-on-one employment consultations with HR managers, and special lectures on foreign companies employment.

Shawn Jang, Commissioner of KOTRA Invest Korea, said, “About 20% of all foreign-invested companies are located in the regions hosting this briefing sessions," adding "we will continue to work on projects providing employement information of foreign-invested companies to job-seekers in non-capital area."

Those who want to participate can make applications through the blog of the KOTRA Foreign Firm Employment Support Team (blog.naver.com/bestfic), and inquiries can be made to the KOTRA Foreign Firm Employment Support Team ( jf@kotra.or.kr, 02-3460-7846).
