KOTRA to hold 'Metaverse NFT startups IR Pitching Day' in celebration of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations
16 Korean startups to meet with global investors through pitching and business meetings from May 18

KOTRA is to hold 'Metaverse NFT Startup Pitch Day' to support foreign investment attraction of domestic metaverse and Non-Fungible Token (NFT) startups in Luxembourg for two days from May 18.

Luxembourg is called a hub of the financial industry in the Euro Zone as numerous global companies in the e-commerce and payment fields are located. It is regarded as the optimal place for Korean startups to discover foreign investment partners due to its huge investment potential for metaverse and NFT fields.

On the first day of the event, the Korea-Luxembourg Finverse Forum will be held, starting with a congratulatory speech by Stephane Pesch, CEO of the Luxembourg Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (LPEA) in connection with 'the Metaverse Month', a leading local metaverse event. It will be followed by online pitching of four Korean NFT startups for major European investors on site.

* An event first held in 2022 with a subject on metaverse, hosted by the host of 'ICT Spring', the largest startup event in Luxembourg.

On the second day, six Korean metaverse startups will stage online pitching competition to about 200 officials from foreign investors, accelerators (AC), and global companies who are interested in metaverse, including JP Morgan, Plug and Play. The winning startups will receive the benefit of participating in 5-weeks Silicon Valley local startup incubation program.

In addition, 16 companies including those participating on the pitching day will have one-on-one business meetings with global venture capital (VC) and corporate venture capital (CVC), who had experience of investing in metaverse and NFT fields, to seek investment cooperation partners until May 31.
