Date
2022.06.15

To hold ‘K-Hydrogen Innovation Day’ , the first IR event in the hydrogen field on June 15
Major investors including Macquarie and Prostar Capital showed great interest in K-hydrogen technology

On June 15, KOTRA (President & CEO Yu Jeoung-yeol) will hold an online ‘K-Hydrogen Innovation Day IR' for related investors and companies of Australia. This event will be held as a webinar, and the first IR event in the hydrogen field in Australia. Domestic companies with excellent hydrogen industry technology will participate and seek cooperation in investment with Australian investors and companies.

From the Korean side, the participating companies are: Company G, which provides a total solution for green hydrogen; Company H, a developer of liquid hydrogen transportation equipment; Company H, a manufacturer of hydrogen gas generators; Company J, a company specialized in hydrogen charging stations and extractors; Company H, a developer of hydrogen fuel cell parts using 3D printers; and Company V, a developer of hydrogen fuel cell parts based on carbon nano fiber technology. A total of six companies are to introduce the strengths of their technology by pitching for local investors and propose business cooperation. After the pitching presentation, the University of Sydney will present the innovation trend of the Australian hydrogen industry to examine the potential cooperation in the hydrogen field between the two countries.

From the Australian side, five major investment companies including Macquarie Group, known as a major player in domestic renewable energy infrastructure investment, Prostar Capital, an investment company specializing in green industries based in Australia, the US, and Hong Kong, and 20 hydrogen and renewable energy companies, and 25 other companies and institutions will participate.

Australia's export is highly dependent on resources such as coal and natural gas, which account for more than 60% of its total exports. Australia is paying attention to hydrogen, as an alternative export item replacing carbon fuels, in keeping with the global movement away from carbon. Australia's wind and solar power generation is 10 times higher than the global average, making it easy to produce green hydrogen.

And local companies are interested in cooperation with innovative technology companies required to make the hydrogen ecosystem more realistic. As this is the first IR event to introduce innovative technology companies in the Korean hydrogen field, it is expected to garner positive response from investors. KOTRA's Sydney Office is scheduled to conduct online consultations, after checking demand for consultation before and after the event.

Kim Byung-ho, Director-General of KOTRA Sydney said, "Australia and Korea have strength in hydrogen production and utilization, respectively, and have huge potential for cooperation based on their complementary relationship," adding "This event is meaningful in that it is the first IR event to facilitate Australian companies' cooperation in the Korean hydrogen sector, and we will endeavor to hold various events to further cooperation between the two countries."
