KOTRA held to 2022 Select USA Korea-U.S. Investment Cooperation Forum on June 2 8
Introduction of investment trends of major industries including semiconductor, battery and share success cases
Contribute to supply chain stabilization by stimulating investment of companies in both countries


KOTRA (President & CEO Yu Jeoung-yeol) held the Korea-US Investment Cooperation Forum in collaboration with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (Minister Lee Chang-yang), Korea Embassy in US Ambassador (Cho Tae-yong), US Department of Commerce, US Embassy in Korea, Select USA, State Government Agencies on June 28 (local time) in Washington D.C.

This Forum is operated in connection with Select USA Investment Summit, the largest US event for investment attraction, held on June 26-29. Attended by influential government figures from the two countries, including Cho Tae-yong (Korea ambassador to the USA), Gina Raimondo (Secretary of Commerce), Larry Hogan (Maryland Governor) and other state governors, and about 120 business people from both sides, engaging in active networking.

The 8th Select USA Investment Summit this year, is held in Washington D.C., offline in three years since 2019. Select USA, the organizer, invites high-ranking officials from the US governments, state government officials, investment attraction institutions, and global companies, providing customized information to the companies seeking to enter the US market. With the participation of global companies such as Simens Energy and Softbank, 90 people from 48 companies and institutions involved in semiconductor, secondarby battery, among others, participated from Korea.

The Korea-US Investment Cooperation Forum has been designated as the official sideline event for this year's Select USA Investment Summit. As the bilateral relationship advances from traditional security alliance to future-oriented economic and security alliance through the Korea-US Summit in May, influential figures including the Secretary of Commerce participated. They discusses measures for bilateral investment cooperation in response to the global supply chain reorganization in the promising areas including semiconductor and battery.

Shwan Chang, Commissioner of KOTRA Invest Korea, said "the existing global value chain is falling aprt due to geopolitical conflicts spurred by the pandemic and local issues," stressing that "aginst this backdrop, investment partnership with the allied country will serve as a great growth engine, stimulating trade as well," adding "we will continue to provide a venue for opportunity to deepen economic cooperation in the major areas for supply chain collaboration including semiconductor and battery."
