KOTRA held '2023 Edison Awards winning strategies webinar' on the 10th
Introduction of 2023 Edison Awards and presentation of winning strategies... "Support for securing overseas references for startups

A webinar was held to support the award of the technology contest 'Edison Awards'. The Edison Awards Steering Committee and this year's award-winning companies presented winning strategies and know-how. Total of 98 people from 74 startups participated in the event.

This webinar was for Korean startups that have technical skills but are having difficulties entering global market due to lack of overseas references. This is to inform domestic startups of the Edison Awards, which are well known in the United States, and to allow more companies to secure overseas references.

The awards is one of the most recognized technology competitions in America. Global technology companies such as Apple, 3M, and General Electric have won the awards, and innovative technology startups around the world are applying for the awards. Edison Awards-winning companies will get gold, silver, and copper seals by ranking, and the seals become a marketing tool that recognizes their technological prowess.

In the webinar, overview of the Edison Awards, winning strategies, and know-how of awards-winning company were disclosed. Lindsay Burch, Director of Marketing and Client Engagement of the Edison Awards Steering Committee, provided guidance on how to fill out applications more effectively and gave advice to Korean startups. The Steering Committee even issued a coupon for a 10% discount on the application fee to companies participating in this webinar.

Ahn Hyun-woo, CEO of SOFTPV, a Korean startup that won the bronze medal in the innovative material category among customer solutions at this year's competition, shared detailed know-how from the motivation for applying for the Edison Awards to the actual application form, and received a favorable response from many domestic startups.
