Experience "Korea's Life Style (K-Lifestyle)" in Beijing

KOTRA holds an event of displaying and promoting Korean products, marking the 30 year anniversary of the establishment of ROK-China's diplomatic relations on Aug 25.
Various products fitting for China's new consumption trends such as single-person economy and petconomy are to be presented.

KOTRA (President & CEO Yu Jeoung-yeol) and Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Beijing, China (Ambassador Jeong Jae-ho) are to jointly host a display consultation, '2022 K-Lifestyle in Beijing' in Hotel Kunlun in Beijing on Aug. 25. Held for the third time this year, the event aims to promote cooperation between Korean and Chinese companies, marking the 30 year anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between two countries.

At this year's event, a total of 148 companies ranging from small and mid-sized companies with no experience in exporting to china to large and leading companies including Nongshim, Pulmuwon, CheongKwanJang, LG H& H, Lotte Chilsung Beverage will participate. KOTRA plans to showcase a variety of products imbued with Korea's lifestyle to Chinese customers through cooperation accompanied by large, small and mid-sized companies, Additionally, 150 buyer companies including china's commodity retailers such as ByteDance (字节跳动) will take part in one-on-one export consultations with Korean companies online and offline for a week. At the same time, Gangwon-do, Chungbuk-do and Daegu-si are to join the event, and display 35 products of their local brand companies.

Moreover, there will be webinars as well to introduce China's digital marketing along with its online distribution trend. In the meantime, KOTRA Beijing will continue to support the Korean products by the end of the year so that they can be at the O2O(Online to Offline : a marketing method of connecting online and offline) stores most representative in the region as well as online platforms.

As of 2021, the number of single-person households in China exceeded 24 million, resulting in the continued advent of single-person products and services. In line with that, the popularity of pets has led a rapid growth of the relevant market. Hong Chang-pyo, head of KOTRA's China regional headquarters said, "the single-person economy, petconomy, contactless economy, and other new consumption trends have come earlier due to the outbreak of the pandemic, with an increase in demand for suitable products and services," adding, "we will continuously support to the effect that Korea's various and characteristic products with the country's forward-looking lifestyle would enter the Chinese market."
