KOTRA & NAVER Cloud held the 'Digital Healthcare Transformation Conference (DHTC)' in Bangkok, Thailand, starting on Dec. 7
Aiming to expand joint overseas market entry of large, mid, and small healthcare companies using a SaaS platform

KOTRA (President Yu Jeong-yeol), together with NAVER Cloud (CEO Park Won-ki, Kim Yoo-won), launched the 'Digital Healthcare Transformation Conference 2022' (DHTC) from Dec. 7 to 8. to build a foundation on which domestic digital healthcare enterprises can enter the Thai market.

The event is a collaborative project between KOTRA and NAVER Cloud to support homegrown SMEs of ICT technologies to go abroad. First held in August, the conference is open once again to expand opportunities all around for domestic companies to enter Thailand's healthcare market, which is highly evaluated to have growth potential.

Under the theme of 'Digital Well-Being,' a two-day conference, starting from Dec. 7, had speakers from KOTRA, Thailand's Department of Health, and hospitals brief about the trends of the digital healthcare industry in both countries, remote medical treatments, AI diagnosis, medical data services and other cutting-edge ICT-based technologies in the healthcare field. That roughly 300 officials from as many as 50 hospitals joined in the conference demonstrated how much people are interested in digital healthcare.

The Thai government has been fostering the healthcare industry as the core of the 'Thailand 4.0' policy for the digital-based advancement of the national economy. Accordingly, the Department of Health in Thailand also established the 'e-health strategy roadmap' and now proceeds with the idea of transforming Thailand, a big house as a tourist spot, into a medical Hub in Asia. Besides, the department also offers services associated with diverse digital medical solutions by setting up the smart health platform Kin-Yoo-Dee.

Jung Oi-young, head of KOTRA's Innovative Growth Division, expressed, "In line with global issues regarding the environment and aging population, the importance of digital wellbeing and smart medicine industry is swelling," adding, "We will actively support excellent domestic SMEs to make inroads in exporting to ASEAN's digital healthcare market, and draw a new chance for cooperation."
