KOTRA and related institutions are organizing Integrated Korean Hall at 'MWC 2023' four days from Feb. 4
One-on-one consultations for overseas entry of Homegrown mid-sized companies and startups along with IR pitching will be held

KOTRA (President Yu Jeong-yeol) hosts a Korean Hall at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain, from Feb. 27 to Mar. 2 (local time). This year's MWC will be held on a large scale for the first in three years since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. And hence, a large number of global telecommunications companies and tech companies are expected to showcase new technologies.

The MWC is known as one of the world's three major advanced industry exhibitions, along with the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) in the US and Berlin's Internationale Funkausstellung (IFA) in Germany. However, compared to CES and IFA, MWC focuses more on mobile networks (digital infrastructure), which is all the more important for the telecommunications industry. Therefore, the main participants of the MWC, besides mobile manufacturers, encompass global telecommunications companies, software, ICT infrastructure, content media, and other industries.

The theme of the 2023 MWC is "Velocity," which will offer insights into key topics currently occurring in the industries, such as the continuous spread of 5G in the global wireless communications industry and ways to establish a 6G data infrastructure for future technologies, including AR and meta-universe.

Since the first operation of a Korean Pavilion at the 2009 MWC, KOTRA has entered its 14th year of participation. At the Korean Hall, 28 mid-sized enterprises in various fields, including platforms, solutions, electronics, and content, are to partake in business networking with global investors and buyers.

At this year's MWC, KOTRA, along with other institutions, including Telecommunications Technology Association (TTA) and Daegu Technopark, organized the integrated Korean Hall with the participation of 76 companies in total. This unifies individually managed group halls under the 'KOTRA' brand, promoting excellent technologies of the participants and effectively demonstrating Korea's status as a mobile powerhouse.

KOTRA President Yu noted, "The MWC is the world's largest mobile device exhibition that annually welcomes the participation of telecommunications companies and tech giants," adding, "KOTRA will actively support Korea's participants so that they can create business opportunities and make tangible achievements at the MWC."
