Held ‘2023 GLOBAL TALENT FAIR’ in COEX for Two Days
Brought Together 382 Domestic, Foreign-Invested, and Overseas Companies

The 2023 Global Talent Fair, hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (Minister Lee Chang-yang) and the Ministry of Employment and Labor (Minister Lee Jeong-sik), cohosted by Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) and Human Resources Development Service of Korea (HRDK), was held at COEX in Seoul on August 21.

The fair is the largest global job fair in Korea, bringing together about 400 companies, including domestic companies, foreign-invested companies and overseas companies. This year, 168 foreign-invested companies participated in the job fair.

46 of Forbes' top 2,000 global companies, including △Dell Technologies Korea (Digital) △ Siemens Health (Biohealth) △ Applied Materials Korea (Advanced Parts and Materials) △ Infineon Technologies Korea (Semiconductor), also participated. Foreign-invested companies are popular among job seekers due to △ excellent welfare and work-life balance △ horizontal structure that respects employees' capabilities △ solid business performance recognized in the global market. At the Global Job Center, which aims to help job-seekers land a job abroad, 114 foreign companies conducted interviews and consultations with the aim of hiring more than 1,000 people.

Among them, recruiters from 99 companies were present in the job fair, while the rest 15 companies met with Korean job seekers through online video interviews. By country, Japan had the largest number of companies with 66, and the demand for talents appeared to be also high from advanced countries such as the United States and Australia.

Besides on-site and video interviews between job seekers and companies, "Global Talent Fair" provides various side events such as △ Special Lecture by Seniors △Resume/Cover Letter Consulting △ Introduction to Employment Programs for International Organization △ One-on-One Employment Strategy Briefing (ID photo shooting, Psychological counseling) △ Award Ceremony for Writing Contest on the subject of successful job-seeking experiences △ Special Lecture on VISA. In particular, in order to expand the participation of local job seekers, a preliminary job fair was held in 10 provinces (Busan, Daegu/Gyeongbuk, Daejeon/Chungnam, Honam, etc.) to promote the fair and horn job seekers' capabilities. KOTRA President Yu Jeoung-yeol said, "If you actively appeal your strengths and confidently express your affection and sincerity for your work, you will get good results."
