KOTRA to Operate the Korean Pavilion at Singapore Bigdata & AI World 2023 on Oct 11-12
Invest KOREA holds Korea-Singapore Digital Innovation Seminar to support innovative Korean companies attract investment

The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) will operate the Korean Pavilion and hold seminars to support Korea's innovative companies enter and attract investment from the Southeast Asian market at the "Singapore Bigdata & AI World 2023" exhibition, held in Singapore on October 11-12. This project consists of ▲operation of the Korean Pavilion ▲Korea-Singapore Digital Innovation Seminar ▲ Investor-Buyer business partnering to support entry into the Southeast market and attraction of foreign investment

The event, held at the Marina Bay Convention in Singapore every year, attracted about 23,000 visitors and 450 participating booths from 30 countries in the exhibition area of 30,000 square meters. This exhibition, along with the CommunicAsia 2023 (Singapore ICT Exhibition) that was held in the first half of the year, is a major Southeast Asian event of the innovation industry, presenting ICT-related items encompassing AI, data, and cloud.

The CommunicAsia 2023 focuses on hardware such as display, optical communication, and wireless communication device, not enough for Korean companies to show their strength, usually on big data and AI. For this reason, KOTRA decided to run the Korean Pavilion at the "Singapore Bigdata & AI World 2023" for the first time, jointly with the Korea Artificial Intelligence Association.

In addition, Invest KOREA, an agency in charge of the national investment promotion under KOTRA, will hold a seminar "Korea-Singapore Digital Innovation". This seminar is made up of "the current status and opportunities of the digital industry in the two countries" and "IR presentations by six innovative companies to attract investment.

Kim Tae-hyung, Commissioner of Invest KOREA said "we will actively promote the investment appeal of Korea's deep-tech industry and ecosystem, while supporting Korean innovative companies attract investment through IR pitching."

Lee Hee-sang , Regional Director General of Southeast Asia said, "it is to support Korea's innovative companies to enter the foreign market and attract investment in the exhibition held in Singapore, which is emerging as the gateway to enter the global and Southeast Asia market since the COVID-19 pandemic," adding that "For Korea's innovative companies to enter overseas market, the support not only for marketing but also for global innovation through investment promotion is required, and Singapore will be an important partner for Korea's innovative companies as a financial center and a basis to enter the Southeast Asia market."
