Collaboration with 32 organizations, Participation of 443 Companies....Set up the Korean Pavilion of 'Team Korea'
Host 'K-Innovation Day' Event to Connect Innovative Companies in Korea with Global Companies including Walmart, IBM

The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) (President Yu Jeoung-yeol) will operate the Korean Pavilion at Consumer Electronics Show (CES), to be held in Las Vegas from January 9-12, jointly with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (Minister Ahn Deok-geun).

CES is the world's largest trade fair for household electronics and IT, in which a record of about 760 Korean companies including large conglomerates such as Samsung, LG, Hyundai, SK and SMEs (small-medium enterprises) and MMEs (Middle Market Enterprises) will be participating.

In accordance with the government's policy of expanding the integrated Korean Pavilion at overseas exhibitions through pan-government collaboration, this year's Korean Pavilion will be the largest ever with 443 companies and 32 organizations including KOTRA, local governments, related organizations and universities participating. It is also more than double the size of last year.

The number of Korean companies that won the CES Innovation Award, jointly presented by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) and the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA), is also the largest ever. Of the 310 award-winning companies announced in November 2023, 143 Korean companies account for about 46 percent, and 13 of them will be participating in the Korean Pavilion. Notably, KOTRA supported CES Innovation Award winning in multi-faceted ways by ▲ giving lecture on Innovation Awards winning strategies ▲ mentoring on how to fill out Innovation Awards application form and ▲ supporting application fees. On the back of such support, two companies participating in the Korean Pavilion were honored with the 'Best of Innovation", which is awarded only to the best products of the Innovation Award recipients.

On January 10, 'K-Innovation Day' event will be held to open the possibility for Korean startups to enter the North American market. In the first session, 15 startups, having been selected through pre-application and review process, will be on the stage to have pitching opportunities for global companies and major VC with demand for open innovation technology, such as Walmart, IBM, and KPMG. In the second session, 'K-Tech Forum' will be held, which will be hosted by US innovative companies including Lablup inc, Vontier, and LG NOVA (LG North American Innovation Center). In the following networking dinner, about 100 Korean startups, global companies, and VCs will be invited to discuss new opportunities for technological cooperation.

KOTRA's President Yu Jeoung-yeol said that "CES 2024, the world's largest trade fair where tech companies come from all over the world, presents a good opportunity for Korean companies to promote their technological competitiveness," adding that "we will provide every possible support including searching for business partners and open innovation to help our companies achieve tangible outcomes."
