MOTIE · KOTRA Operate Korean Pavilion at World Hydrogen 2024 Summit & Exhibition
To attract strategic investment in the Korean hydrogen industry and assist business partnership

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (Minister Ahn Duk-geun) and KOTRA (President Yu Jeong-yeol) will host Korean Pavilion at World Hydrogen 2024 Summit & Exhibition in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, on May 13-15.

Korean Pavilion will be set up for the first time in this Summit, co-organized by the Ministry of Environment, the Korea Environmental Industry Association, and the H2 MEET Organizing Committee. 15 major hydrogen companies and institutions will be participating. KOTRA will hold a 'Korea-EU Hydrogen Partnering Business Meeting' and arrange meetings with major potential partners in Europe, including NLHydrogen, Rotterdam Port Authority, Royal VOPAK, Strohm, and Howden.

In addition, KOTRA will hold 'EU Hydrogen Investment IR' jointly with Ulsan Free Economic Zone Authority. It is planned to introduce Korea's hydrogen industry and excellent investment environment as a hub in Asia to global investors and companies.

Previously, KOTRA held a webinar on the Dutch Hydrogen Project for more than 100 officials from hydrogen companies home and abroad on May 8. The Netherlands is pushing for various projects on every step of the hydrogen industry value chain, spearheaded by the government. It is also expected to become the center of the European Hydrogen Backbone due to its geographical advantages of close proximity to the North Sea.

An official engaged in system and infrastructure international cooperation at NLHydrogen said, "considering Korea's advanced technology and hydrogen economy roadmap, we believe the cooperation with Korea is highly valuable," adding that "Korean companies can expect the expansion of technology cooperation and commercial opportunities in Europe by entering the Dutch hydrogen market".

Kim Hyun-chul, head of KORTA's European regional headquarters, said, "Korean Pavilion will certainly stimulate the demand for business cooperation between Korean companies and local partners," adding that "KOTRA will continue to provide support as a stronghold for Korean companies to enter the European hydrogen market."
