'Evonik Day' was held at Grand InterContinental Seoul on July 2nd
30 companies engaged in consultations, 4 companies gave pitch presentations
On July 2, KOTRA held an 'Evonik Day (IR seminar and one-on-one investment consultation), jointly with the Innopolis Foundation and the Center for Creative Economy & Innovation. The event was held for domestic bio and cosmetics companies interested in attracting foreign investment.
Evonik entered Korea in 1985 through the establishment of Degussa Korea, and has since been actively engaged in the chemical industry. The company is currently exploring business expansion into biopharmaceuticals and cosmetics/personal care sectors and is seeking strategic partnership opportunities with promising domestic companies.
In response, KOTRA organized the event as part of the Global Alliance Project Series (GAPS)*. KOTRA, in cooperation with the Innopolis Foundation and Center for Creative Economy & Innovation, recruited participating domestic companies, among which Evonik selected 30 companies to engage in one-on-one consultations to discuss specific collaboration opportunities.
* A program designed to attract investment through collaborations with global companies and domestic companies/universities/research institutes for joint technology development and commercialization.
During the seminar held on the same day, Evonik introduced areas of potential collaboration, and four participating companies gave pitch presentations showcasing their innovative technologies. Evonik expressed high regard for the companies' technological capabilities and business models, exploring future collaboration possibilities.
Commissioner Kim Tae-hyung of Invest KOREA at KOTRA stated, “We hope that cooperation with global company Evonik will provide our companies with an important opportunity to expand into the global market. We will continue to expand investment attraction through the GAPS program and further strengthen Korea’s innovation ecosystem."
