MOU signed for cooperation in attracting foreign investment centered on anchor companies in Seoul's strategic industries, such as Bio and AI

Invest KOREA, the national investment promotion agency under the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA, CEO Kang Kyung-sung), and Invest Seoul (Chairman Lee Ji-hyung) signed a "Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Cooperation in Attracting Foreign Investment and Strengthening Capabilities" at the Seoul International Finance Center on March 12.

Invest KOREA was established in 1998 as the national organization dedicated to attracting investment within KOTRA. Through this agreement with the newly launched Invest Seoul, Invest KOREA plans to utilize its 60 years of expertise as a national-level investment promotion platform and its global investor network to support the strengthening of the global competitiveness of Seoul and Korea’s innovative industries.

Invest Seoul is an investment promotion agency established by the Seoul Metropolitan Government in October 2025. Through this MOU, it aims to strengthen foreign investment in Seoul’s regional development projects and achieve its vision of leaping forward as a global business partner city.

The two organizations plan to focus on attracting foreign-invested companies to Seoul's strategic industries and regional development projects, centered on innovative sectors such as Bio and AI, to support the achievement of the government's policy to make Korea the world's best investment destination by improving the foreign investment environment.

They also agreed to cooperate in sharing information on foreign investment trends and demand, improving living conditions for foreign-invested companies, supporting the settlement of and resolving grievances for invested companies, and creating a business-friendly investment environment.

Kim Tae-hyung, Head of Invest KOREA, said, "By cooperating with Seoul's investment promotion agency, we will focus on attracting anchor companies in innovative industries to secure new growth engines for Seoul and, furthermore, Korea, contributing to the strengthening of national competitiveness."
