The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA, President & CEO Kang Kyung-sung) hosted the 'Korea-Vietnam Business Partnership' at the National Convention Center in Hanoi, Vietnam, on the 23rd (local time), in conjunction with President Lee Jae-myung's state visit to Vietnam. At the event, in which 100 Korean small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and mid-sized companies participated, export contracts worth USD 82.09 million were signed.

Last year, the trade volume between Korea and Vietnam reached USD 94.5 billion, with Vietnam maintaining its position as one of Korea's top three trading partners—alongside China and the United States—for the fourth consecutive year. The number of Korean companies operating in Vietnam surpassed 10,000, marking a new milestone in bilateral economic cooperation between the two nations. According to Vietnam's Foreign Investment Agency (FIA), as of the end of March this year, Korea's cumulative investment in Vietnam stood at USD 98.9 billion, making Korea the largest foreign investor in Vietnam. Meanwhile, Vietnam—home to a population of 100 million—has seen its middle-class share grow from 10% to 40% over the past two decades, with surging purchasing power signaling a qualitative shift in its consumer market.

Alongside the export consultation sessions, KOTRA simultaneously held the 'K-Lifestyle Showcase' on-site. To diversify the Vietnam market entry models for Hallyu consumer goods companies, the showcase was organized around three themes: ▲ Major Domestic Distribution Network Win-Win Cooperation Pavilion, ▲ Specialized Trading Company Win-Win Cooperation Pavilion, and ▲ Local Major Distribution Network Pavilion.

KOTRA President Kang Kyung-sung stated, "Amid the difficulties Korean companies are facing due to uncertainties in the Middle East, achieving the largest-ever results at an economic cooperation event with Vietnam—our third-largest trading partner—is highly significant." He added, "We will do our utmost to support Korean SMEs and mid-sized companies in further expanding into Vietnam, which offers the dual appeal of being both a global production hub and a high-growth consumer market."
