KOTRA and Korea Exchange signed an agreement to cooperate in advancing into overseas securities markets and attracting foreign companies to be listed on the Korean stock exchange at the Ritz-Carlton, Seoul on April 20th.

Korea Exchange has distributed Korean-type securities infrastructure in Southeast Asian countries including Cambodia and Laos. KOTRA said Korea Exchange would gain momentum in its efforts to export the IT system for stock markets and encourage the domestic financial industry to venture into foreign markets.

An official of KOTRA said “the Finance Industry Investment Promotion Team of Invest KOREA, KOTRA’s dedicated department in investment promotion, is aggressively drawing investment from venture capital firms, and Korea Exchange has strived to have foreign companies listed on the Korean stock exchange in a bid to globalize the domestic stock market. We expect that the two organizations will generate synergy effects in developing the financial and relevant industries.”
