Daejeon succeeded in attracting BOSCH and other companies

According to Yonhap News,

Daejeon city said on October 6 that it succeeded in attracting USD 100 million of investment from BOSCH, a Germany auto parts maker.

The city had been in discussion with BOSCH Group since February this year, and finalized the plan to establish assembly lines of CRDI, a core part of diesel vehicle.

The investment is expected to create about 300 new jobs.

Meanwhile, Doctor Life, a medical device manufacturer based in Gyeonggi province, decided to relocate its headquarters to Daejeon, and will sign a MOU on October 11. Korea Yakult also decided to relocate its call centers in Seoul to Daejeon by investing KRW 9 billion.

Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials will sign a MOU in December to increase research facilities.

A city official said that the city will embark on investment consulting and identify potential investment companies in preparation for the development of new industrial lands. He continued that Daejeon plans to participate in a joint investment promotion seminar in the US at the end of this year.

After the launch of the current administration, Daejeon have attracted 243 companies and created 12,269 jobs.
