Dozens of South Korean small and mid-size companies will participate in Hong
Kong's international trade show focused on licensing in a bid to expand their
regional licensing network, organizers said Thursday.
Some 40
organizations from South Korea will take part in the annual Hong Kong
International Licensing Show 2013, which is scheduled to be held from Monday
through Wednesday, said the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the Chinese
territory's trade agency.
The participants include
government-supported agencies, such as Korea Character Business Association and
Gyeonggi Content Agency, as well as firms such as Voozclub Co. and Ocon Inc.
that are well known for their character brands, Pucca and Pororo,
respectively.
The trade show will assist licensors and licensing
agents in the areas of characters, entertainment, art, education, sports and
fashion to search for business partners in Asia, especially in mainland China,
the officials at the council said.
On the sidelines of the event, a
conference related to the licensing business will be held, the council said. Kim
Tae-kyung, chief operating officer of Voozclub will be one of the speakers at
the conference.
Last year, the Hong Kong International Licensing Show
invited more than 170 exhibitors from 16 countries and regions and attracted
nearly 16,000 trade visitors including licensees, manufacturers, distributors
and retailers.
