V-Tex Completes Manufacturing Plant in Gyeonggi Province
Date
2013.03.22

V-Tex Korea, an affiliate of Japan’s V-Tex, has completed a semiconductor valve production plant in the Osung Industrial Complex in Pyeongtaek City, Gyeonggi Province.

The building completion ceremony was held on March 21. Among those present were Governor Kim Moon-soo of Gyeonggi Province, Mayor Kim Sun-ki of Pyeongtaek City, President Maeda Yasuhiro of V-Tex, and President Oda Hisataka of V-Tex Korea.

V-Tex Korea signed an MOU with the Gyeonggi Provincial Government last July and constructed a 4,136㎡ plant with an investment of USD 100 million. The company, which hired 150 people from the province, produces super-high vacuum valves, high vacuum valves, and rupture disks and supplies them to Samsung, LG, and SK Hynix. Super-high vacuum valves are used to make semiconductors, flat-panel displays (FPDs), organic electroluminescence (EL) devices, and hard disk drives (HDDs).

The provincial government expects the completion of the plant to generate more than KRW 30 billion by 2016. The plant is also anticipated to improve related technology and secure price competitiveness.

V-Tex Korea was established last April with the technology and capital of V-Tex, which was established with funding from Hitachi Zosen.

“Foreign-invested firms contribute to boosting the local economy through job creation and technology transfer. We will consistently support these firms,” said Governor Kim.
