The World Federation of Overseas Korean Traders Associations (World-OKTA) will hold the 15th World-Overseas Korean Traders Association Convention at Daemyung Resort in Buan, North Jeolla Province, for four days from April 16.

As the largest economic organization of Korean traders comprising 121 regional offices in 64 nations, 6,500 regular members, and 12,500 next-generation members, World-OKTA has established mutual networks and increased opportunities to enter overseas markets through its annual convention.

The 15th convention, co-sponsored by Yonhap News Agency and the North Jeolla Provincial Government, will be attended by 500 Korean businessmen, the chief officials of 14 regional government bodies, and some 100 businessmen.

Under the theme of the establishment of Korean business networks and development of the Korean economy, participants will promote the export of Korean companies and exchange information on global economic trends.

“We will do what we can do to promote foreign investment in the Saemangeum Free Economic Zone and will help local firms advance into the global market,” said Kim Woo-jae, Chairman of World-OKTA.
