KOTRA Supports SMEs Entering Chinese Market
Date
2013.06.24

The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) announced last Wednesday that it will hold a roadshow for Korean small- and mid-sized companies to support their entry into the Chinese market.

The event, organized with local distribution chains, aims at enabling small- and mid-sized companies to experience various market environments for three months and enter the market with competitive products.

In the first phase, KOTRA and Better-Life Commercial Chain Share Co. Ltd, the largest Chinese distributor in Hubei Province which has 233 stores across China, will hold a Korea culture expo from until June 26.

From July 1 to September 30, the products of small- and medium-sized companies will be consigned to stores in main streets to monitor consumers and receive their feedback.

About ten products with sufficient marketability will be selected as finalists for the expo, which will be held for seven days from October 1 in the largest department store in Hubei Province.

A KOTRA official noted that ensuring consumer confidence in products through long-term marketing activities is important for small- and medium-sized companies to enter the global market as consumer awareness of their products is low, adding that the event is expected to serve as a foundation for the companies to expand globally.
