KOTRA Holds Korea-Japan Energy Conservation Ecoplaza in Osaka
Date
2013.07.05

The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) held the third Korea-Japan energy conservation ecoplaza Tuesday to support Korean small- and medium-sized solar power companies entering the Japanese market.

About 30 Korean companies that produce solar and light emitting diode (LED) lights participated in the event to tap into the Japanese market.

The big three Japanese solar companies of Sharp, Kyocera and Panasonic set up booths and showed interest in building a partnership relationship with Korean companies.

Japan is one of the fastest-growing solar power markets in the world despite the industry slowdown.

With a market size of 2.1GW as of last year, it is the fifth largest market, following Germany, China, the United States and Italy. However the Japanese market is expected to see three-fold growth, to 6.7GW, and become the second largest market after China in 2015.
