The Ministry of Industry, Trade and Energy (MOTIE), Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), Amazon Web Service Korea (AWS) and the Korea Business Angels Association held a starting ceremony for Creative Global Growth on Tuesday.
Creative Global Growth helps Korean venture companies expand overseas with Amazon’s cloud service and applications.
About 20 venture companies, including BnBHero, which services a shared Internet platform, participated in the ceremony. Twenty companies were selected from 83 through two screenings.
KOTRA noted that the top five companies will be selected through a pilot program for three months, and they will receive credits that allow them to use Amazon’s cloud service and server.
KOTRA CEO Oh Young-ho noted that the corporation will actively support Korean IT venture companies to penetrate overseas markets by cooperating with related agencies.
MOTIE and KOTRA are also cooperating with Microsoft to select 30 Korean software companies to support platform development and business consulting through the Smart Growth project.
