Date
2013.10.15

Global electronics and electrical engineering company Siemens launched Siemens Energy Solutions in Korea as the regional headquarters for the Asia Pacific and Middle East region for its energy solutions business.

Siemens Korea announced on Sunday that Siemens Energy Solutions set up an office in Seoul and appointed Rochus Bergmann as the President.

The company, which will provide various solutions for thermal power generation, plans to increase the number of employees to 500 by 2017. Also, the company will build four combined cycle power plants in Dangjin, Ansan, Andong and Incheon and supply gas turbines to the plants.

Siemens expects that through the power plant construction, foreign engineers will be able to share their know-how in designing eco-friendly power plants with Korean engineers, and that the company’s suppliers in the field of manufacturing, designing and construction will increase employment and enjoy higher annual sales.

Bergmann noted that the company will actively cooperate with Korean companies to establish power plants in Korea and abroad, and contribute to the Korean energy industry through technology transfer and talent development.
