Plansee, the world’s leading manufacturer of high melting point metal, is a representative small hidden champion that has been mentioned more than 20 times in Hermann Simon’s Hidden Champions.
Established in 1921 in Reutte, Plansee recorded sales of KRW 1.7 trillion in 2013.
The metals manufactured in Plansee are used for semiconductors, displays, melting furnaces and ultra-voltage transformers and supplied to companies including Samsung Electronics.
"Plansee, the hidden champion, is the first foreign-invested company to move into the Dongtan High-Tech Industrial Complex. We will spare no effort in supporting Plansee to successfully invest in Korea,” said Nam.
