(SEJONG=NEWSIS) Korea and Bulgaria will enhance industrial and energy cooperation.
The Ministry of Trade, Industry & Energy (MOTIE) announced that it held the Korea-Bulgaria Business Cooperation Forum on November 25 in Bulgaria to discuss ways to cooperate in the industrial and energy sectors.
Korean representatives suggested measures that could benefit from the Korea-EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA), including ways to increase trade and investment, joint research and development (R&D) and energy and new industry cooperation.
The Korean delegation met with the Vice Minister of the Ministry of Economy and Energy of Bulgaria and requested that the issues faced by Korean companies in Bulgaria be resolved.
The delegation’s first stop was Ankara, Turkey, where they held the Korea-Turkey Energy Cooperation Forum and sought ways to increase energy cooperation, in light of the Korea-Turkey FTA.
Forum participants discussed cooperative measures for energy sectors including thermal power generation and plant construction.
"We will enhance cooperation not only in the plant sector, but also sectors that use Korea’s manufacturing technology," said a MOTIE official.
