Event to Promote Cooperation Between German and Korean Companies Held in Hamburg

(BERLIN=Yonhap News) An event was held on February 24 to strengthen cooperation between German and Korean companies, according to the Korean Consulate General in Hamburg.

The Consulate General explained that a delegation from Busan and officials at the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce had the opportunity to discuss mutual exchanges and cooperation between Korea and Germany, including the current economic environment of Korea, its investment strengths and its employment benefits for Koreans in Hamburg.

Consul General Chang See-jeong expressed in his congratulatory speech his hope for more cooperation between German and Korean companies, as German companies can easily enter the Korean market thanks to the free trade agreement between Korea and the EU.

The event was co-organized by the Korean Consulate General in Hamburg, Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, Korean-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, German Asia-Pacific Business Association, KOTRA’s Hamburg Office and the Korea-Germany Association in Hamburg.

Northern Germany is home to 400 German companies that have trade and investment relations with Korea. Among them, 144 have branches or offices in Korea, according to the Korean Consulate General in Hamburg.
