MOTIE Holds Meeting for Technological Cooperation

(SEOUL=Yonhap News) The Ministry of Trade, Industry & Energy held a meeting about technological cooperation July 10 with foreign-invested companies and foreign engineering schools in Korea to encourage them to participate in research and development (R&D) activities in the country.

Foreign-invested companies with R&D experience in Korea, including 3M, IBM and Solvay Korea, and foreign engineering schools including the State University of New York and Friedrich-Alexander University Busan Campus took part in the meeting, which was held at the Korea Technology Center in Yeoksam-dong.

They discussed various cooperative measures to establish special regulations for international cooperative R&D and project participation conditions tailored for each institution.

The meeting was organized to seek ways to improve Korea’s R&D environment, which focuses on local companies and research institutions, at a time when cooperation in international technology is more important than ever.
