(SEOUL=Yonhap News) The Ministry of Trade, Industry & Energy (MOTIE) announced July 17 that it has established a research and business development strategy for industrial technology for 2016.
MOTIE selected 113 core investment targets and 279 core technological development themes to enhance the competitiveness of Korea’s manufacturing industry.
These themes have to do with four industrial areas – creativity (31 themes), parts and materials (95 themes), system (103 themes) and energy (50 themes).
The strategy aims to develop new industries that meet mega trends, promote the high value added of core industries, improve industrial competitiveness in a new trade environment and respond to global energy issues including climate change, said MOTIE.
The government’s strategy for 2015 includes 195 core investment targets and 387 core technological development themes.
