Creative Economy Product Demo Day Held in Seoul Creative Economy Innovation Center

(SEOUL=Yonhap News) The Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning (MSIP) and Creative Economy Initiative Public-Private Partnership co-hosted a creative economy product demo day at the Seoul Creative Economy Innovation Center on August 7 to introduce private venture capitals and angel investors to regional creative economy innovation centers and incubating startups.

Representatives of ten companies, recommended by the innovation centers in Seoul, North Jeolla Province, Gyeonggi Province, South Jeolla Province and Gwangju, as well as by CJ, Google Campus Seoul and SK Telecom, attended the event.

The companies introduced their products, services and business models to attract investment.

Investors included venture capitals and angel investors in Seoul and venture capitals that had signed agreements with regional innovation centers, including Magellan Technology Investment, SparkLabs, K Cube Ventures, DSC Investment and LB Investment.

Daeduck Lab, a halal-certified cosmetics company that received KRW 1.5 billion (USD 1.27 million) in investment funds via the Daejeon Center for Creative Economy & Innovation, also shared about its successful startup experience with participants.

The MSIP plans to hold a creative economy innovation festival to showcase how innovation centers have supported startups at the end of August and a creative economy fair to introduce the results of the creative economy at the end of November.
