According to Yonhap News,
(TOKYO=Yonhap News) The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (MAFRA) will hold various events in Tokyo and Osaka, Japan to introduce Korean agricultural products to Japanese consumers and buyers, September 14 and 15.
The ministry aims to reduce Korea’s export industry concerns over weak exports in the agricultural products sector and increase export opportunities for Korean agricultural companies by showing various new agricultural goods to the Japanese market.
MAFRA Minister Lee Dong-phil will participate in the events, the aim being to create a second Korean Wave in the agricultural industry.
An event on Korean food will take place on September 14 at Hyatt Regency Tokyo where Lee, Korean food columnist Hatta Yasushi and other panelists will talk about Korean food, including kimchi and makgeolli, with 200 Japanese stay-at-home mothers.
A Korea fair will be held at the Shin Okubo Korean Town, where Lee will become an honorary clerk for the day and sell Korean agricultural goods and food to Japanese consumers.
The ministry will also host an export consulting meeting at Cerulean Tower Tokyu Hotel, where a total of 79 Korean exporters in the agricultural food sector and 100 Japanese buyers will engage in consulting meetings.
