Date
2016.12.02
According to Yonhap News,

(SEJONG=Yonhap News) A conference to seek ways for convergence of embedded software and information technology (IT) was held at Ramada Hotel in Seoul, Korea on December 1, 2016.

Embedded software refers to software installed in products of leading industries such as automobiles, aviation, robots, and shipbuilding. Along with IT convergence technology, it is expected to be a bridge technology that connects existing industrial fields with new technologies such as artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, and big data.

The conference, held for the fourth time by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, was organized under three themes: intellectualization, networking, and convergence.

NVIDIA CEO Lee Yong-Duk delivered a keynote speech to share latest technology trends in real industry fields such as virtual reality, artificial intelligence, and autonomous vehicles.

At the event, commendations from the Minister of Industry were given to two awardees including Lim Seung-Ok, head of the network convergence research center of the Korea Electronics Technology Institute.

"We plan to continue investing to facilitate development of related technologies, starting from injecting KRW 2 billion annually for five years from this year to nurture embedded software professionals," an official from the Ministry of Industry said.
